Composer
Simon TaufiQue is a British Indian, Emmy-nominated, and multiple award-winning composer and producer, known for the HBO/Max award-winner, Land of Gold, the Emmy-nominated documentary, The Interpreters, The Weight of Gold (HBO), Imperium (Lionsgate/Universal), and Berlinale-winner, She’s Lost Control, and recent Sundance selection, Ricky.
A protégé of GRAMMY-winning composer, DAVID TORN, his accomplishments include working with top filmmakers and artists including M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN (The Sixth Sense), MARY HARRON (American Psycho), JULIAN CASABLANCAS (THE STROKES), KEVIN SMITH (Clerks), and ANJA MARQUARDT (Girlfriend Experience). Simon has scored dozens of films, mixing bittersweet moods for films like Jesus Henry Christ (eONE), and the award-winning, Are You Glad I’m Here, alongside the dark intensity of INDEPENDENT SPIRT AWARD nominee She’s Lost Control, as well as Lionsgate’s thriller Imperium, and 2020 EMMY nominee, The Interpreters.
Beyond his work as a film composer, Simon’s other interests include writing (blogging about the TriBeCa Film Festival for Timeout NY Magazine), interviewing recording artists for TapeOp Magazine (a pro audio publication), and volunteering as Program Director for the South Asian International Film Festival in 2008.

Simon studied Political Science and Economics as an undergraduate at New York University and pursued a Masters in Music Technology, also at NYU. He is currently Co-President of HRTS (Hollywood Radio & Television Society_-Associates (NY), teaches Film at NYU and is a sought-after speaker and is an active member and mentor at the Producer’s Guild- East.
Simon is a fellow of the ASCAP-Columbia University Composer’s Workshop and the Transatlantic Partners Producing Program. He has served on the voting jury of the Bermuda Film Festival, Ludenberg Doc Fest, South Asian International Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival Programming Committee.
