For 20 years, Mona May has created unforgettable costumes for major motion pictures and television that have captured the imagination, inspired fashion trends for generations to come, and are incredible expressions of art and creativity. She is the costume design extraordinaire behind iconic fashion films such as The Wedding Singer, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Never Been Kissed, Enchanted, and A Night at the Roxbury.
Born in India to European parents, Mona was raised in Warsaw, and later

As a fearless storyteller and creator, Mona has elevated the status of fashion
in film since the release of Clueless (starring Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd and written & directed by Amy Heckerling), which changed the fashion landscape for many generations and continues to inspire fashion designers today. Since then, Mona has injected bold confidence into her costume designs across pop culture favorites in film and television including most recently The House Bunny, Santa Clarita Diet, Stuart Little 2, the Punky Brewster reboot, the upcoming Netflix film Mixtape, and the upcoming action-thriller Retribution, starring Liam Neeson.
Mona’s other passion is providing guidance to young women and empowering them to be themselves without fear of judgment. It is not only the backbone of her work on-screen, but also the epitome of what she stands for as an artist and in life. Mona gives keynote speeches around costuming and creative storytelling and is currently working on a book that gives audiences a unique and inside look into the incredible world of costume design.
