Matt Lake

Matt Lake is a Brooklyn-based DGA 1^st Assistant Director with 25 years of experience in film and television production. Originally from San Francisco, Matt graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara and began his career in Los Angeles before moving to New York City and joining the DGA in 2008. From early PA days on The West Wing and Spider-Man 2 and 3, through an AD career involving films and television shows by Darren Aronofsky, Courtney A. Kemp, Joel and Ethan Coen, David Simon, Tina Fey, Jonathan Nolan and Ben Stiller, Matt has worked alongside and learned from the most dynamic and creative minds in the industry. Film and television sets have felt like home from the start and Matt’s even-keeled style, attention to detail, and dedication to story have been the drivers of his success. The process of transforming the singular vision of a director, or showrunner into the collaborative effort of a crew is what motivates and challenges him job after job. Most recently Matt worked on Fallout, Severance and Dead Ringers.
