Luke Ciarrocchi is best known for his work with groundbreaking director, M. Night Shyamalan. Their collaboration as editor and director includes The Visit (Olivia DeJonge), Split (James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy) and Glass (Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Paulson). Released by Universal Pictures, the three films earned a combined total of six #1 weeks at the worldwide boxoffice.
In addition to this work, Luke also assisted in post production on several of Night’s earlier films including The Happening, The Last Airbender, and After Earth. The last of which he served as an additional editor.
Beyond that world, Luke’s work spans both television and feature films. He edited The OA (created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij) and Concrete Cowboy starring Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin for Netflix, Salem’s Lot directed by Gary Dauberman for New Line and HBO Max, and Hold Your Breath for Searchlight Pictures and Hulu– each of which premiered at #1 on its respective platform.
Story and character lie at the heart of Luke’s editing. Over the past 15 years, he has worked exclusively with writer/directors– an unplanned but defining pattern that both reflects and has further deepened his storytelling sensibilities.
A native of Delaware County, a suburb of Philadelphia, Luke earned his B.A. in Film and Media Arts with a minor in Philosophy from Temple University. After graduation, he worked locally for more than a decade while also taking on projects in Los Angeles. He is now based in New York, where he lives with his wife and son.
Most recently, Luke completed The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd, written and directed by Tim Blake Nelson and starring Amanda Seyfried and Scoot McNairy.
