Lucia Zavarcikova

Lucia is a Slovak-born, Los Angeles-based cinematographer. After completing her Master’s degree at the AFI Conservatory in 2020, her thesis film, “APART, TOGETHER,” won Best Live Action Short at the 2021 GSA BAFTA Student Awards, Best Narrative Short at the 44th AAIFF, and the Women In Film Award at HollyShorts, among other accolades. The film is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Her feature credits include the documentary “STORY OF SALES” and the feature film “ONLY THE GOOD SURVIVE,” starring Sidney Flanigan (“Never Rarely Sometimes Always”) and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (“Reservation Dogs”), which premiered at SXSW 2023. Since then, she has worked as a full-time cinematographer in both LA and Europe, collaborating with clients such as Amazon Music, Maison Kitsune, Kaufland, Sesame Street, and MTV. Currently, she is working on the stop-motion film “9 MILLION COLORS” in Prague while preparing for her third feature film, set to take place in San Francisco.
In 2022, Lucia represented the Association of Slovak Cinematographers (ASK) at the International Cinematography Summit at ASC in Los Angeles. A few months later, she was elected as the president of ASK. Lucia is a member of the BAFTA and ASC Vision Mentorship programs and is represented by the Independent Artist Group (IAG) in the USA.
