Laura J. Medina

Producer

Laura Medina began her production career in her hometown of New York after receiving an MFA in Film Directing from New York University.  Laura moved to Los Angeles and joined the Directors Guild of America in 1994.

Laura has worked as Producer, Co-Producer, Line Producer and/or Unit Production Manager on independent and studio feature films, pilots and episodic tv series. She has filmed on locations all over the U.S. as well as Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe and North Africa.

Laura’s most recent production credit was as Line Producer on the ABC Signature/Disney+ pilot “Witch Mountain” in Toronto, Canada.  This followed four seasons on the WBTV/CW network series “Legacies” in Atlanta, GA as Line Producer (S4, 5 episodes) and Co-Producer/UPM (S1 through S4, 63 episodes).

In addition to her production work, Laura was an Assistant Professor of Film at the University of New Orleans from 2011 – 2017. Courses taught included advanced production, producing and directing. She was also the Graduate Program Coordinator for the Department of Film for 3 years.

Laura is currently represented by Julian Savodivker at IAG (Independent Artists Group). She is based in Venice, CA.
