Costume Designer
Kim Ngo is a Vietnamese American Costume Designer, member of the Costume Designers Guild and Motion Pictures Costumers Union. Most recently she has been dedicated to NBC’s This Is Us, a highlight being the design of the Vietnam Unit during Season 3. Additionally in 2019 Kim worked with costume designer Jennifer Johnson to craft Miranda July’s unique vision on her upcoming feature film Kajillionaire, and also built costumes on Spike Jonze’s The New Normal for Med Men. As a craftsperson and artist she’s been blessed to collaborate with inspired artists worldwide.
Kim’s client work spans a wide range of specialties, including design and builds for the World Cup, Virgin America, United States Air Force, and Princess Cruises. She has created walk-about costumes, puppets of all sizes, and even NASCAR driving suits. She is also known to volunteer her skills for a worthy cause, such as her recent design of the award winning Centennial Women’s Suffragette float for the 2020 Rose Bowl Parade. She is an alumni of the famed Booker T. Washington for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX where she discovered her passion for costume design. She holds a degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Costume Design for Theater Arts.
