Director of Photography
Joe Pennella began his career as a documentary filmmaker. After moving to LA, he started shooting and directing commercials.
An opportunity presented itself for him to move into long form scripted narrative films and he shot several features and later started a career as a DP, shooting Movies of the Week and episodic television.
He broadened his portfolio and moved to 1/2-hour comedies. His thought was to bring his cinematic vision and lighting to that format. As a result, he won an Emmy for outstanding cinematography on a multi camera pilot.
