Joe Talbot Hall is a Culver City, CA based artist and filmmaker. Native to the D.C. suburbs, Joe spent much of his youth either hunched over his art table, or wielding a camcorder, shooting horror movies with his siblings and friends. After graduating from University of Maryland, Baltimore County as an award-winning film major, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue the art of motion picture editing to better hone his cinematic skill set.

Over the years, Joe’s strong storytelling sense, his artistic vision, and his meticulous designs in the cutting room have afforded him many exciting opportunities in the world of epic television. Notable editing credits include Netflix’s LOST IN SPACE, Amazon’s CARNIVAL ROW, Apple’s MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS, and Netflix’s AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER. Joe thrives on these large scale productions where he can stretch his imagination while collaborating with a wide array of talented artists. He also brings that same level of passion and dedication to smaller indie feature films like the poignantly quirky SUN DOGS which marked his third collaboration with actor|director Jennifer Morrison.

In addition to his editing achievements, Joe is an accomplished writer and director. His short film, DAMASCUS ROAD, was an official selection of L.A. Shorts Fest and NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, and his short, IN THE DARK, was a Project Greenlight semi-finalist. Joe’s feature screenplay, THE KILLING MEN, based on his father’s transformative experience as a rookie cop, was a semi-finalist for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, and he’s currently developing the film alongside executive producer George Pelecanos (THE WIRE, THE DEUCE).

No matter the project, Joe is still that kid hunched over the art table, striving to craft his dreams into evocative cinema.
