Hagen Bogdanski was born in Berlin and worked as a child actor.
After he graduated from high school and college in Berlin, Munich and San Francisco, he worked with well-known DP´s at home and abroad.
His first film as a DP won the “Kodak Film Award” which was followed by a long relationship with German directors until he reached international attention with “The Live Of Others”.
Hagen Bogdanski, who is also teaching in German film schools, is a member of the American Academy of Motion Picture Art and Science and the German Academy of Motion Picture. He commutes between Europe, the UK and the US.
Hagen is married and a proud father of two girls. Since 2018 he has been working as a director and a DP and divides his ambitions between both disciplines.
