Darren Demetre

Darren Demetre began his film career working for Francis Ford Coppola on the film “Godfather III” where he worked in the pre-production and post-production for the film.  He then moved to Los Angeles where he worked on “Bram Stokers Dracula”, this inspired Darren to pursue a career as an Assistant Director.  He joined the Directors Guild as he worked as an AD on “Tin Cup” starring Kevin Costner.  He then began Production Managing and Line Producing on films for Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, Film Four, A24 and Networks such as HBO, NBC, ABC, NETFLIX, PARAMOUNT TV, and AMC.  The films have taken him to Romania, United Kingdom, Cleveland, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oregon , Canada and many other exotic locales.  He has worked with producers such as Joel Silver, Jason Bateman, Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams, Francis Ford Coppola, Sofia Coppola, Roman Coppola, and David Oyelowo. He was Nominated for an Emmy for his work as a Producer for “Confirmation” for HBO. His recent films “Lean on Pete”, “American Animals”, “Bad Words” “The Waterman” have premiered to rave reviews. His new ventures have taken him in the Episodic world with NETFLIX for “Everything Sucks” and “American Vandal S2”, Facebook Watch’s first major Venture “Queen America”, and Demascus for AMC. He now resides in Portland, Oregon full time while retaining ties to Los Angeles. He has worked effortlessly with the local film commission to encourage films to come to Oregon to take advantage of the cash rebate, no sales tax, great scenery, and amazing filmmakers.
