Chris Cavanaugh

Chris Cavanaugh is a Los Angeles based cinematographer working in features and television, combining a dynamic visual style and an uncommon perspective. A 12-year member of the International Cinematographers Guild, Chris’s journey began as a Digital Imaging Technician — collaborating with cinematographers to utilize sensors, lenses, and color grading to create awe-inspiring images.  This early expertise paved the way for his evolution into a skilled Camera Operator and Director of Photography. Chris’s cinematic vision is deeply rooted in the mentorship he received from some of the industry’s most prolific cinematographers, shaping his skills across various styles, techniques, and artistic approaches. Chris has helped craft the look of numerous motion pictures including 127 Hours, Star Trek Beyond, and the Fast and Furious series. His work can also be found in the TV shows Legion, Southland, and Pretty Little Liars. Chris recently completed a feature film thriller in Montana and is currently shooting 2nd Unit on Netflix’s The Electric State.
