Costume Designer
Ariyela Wald-Cohain is an Emmy Award-winning Costume Designer whose work spans feature films, television, live performance, and new media. Born in South Africa and raised in Israel, she discovered her passion for costume design at an early age and later earned her BFA in Set and Costume Design from Tel Aviv University.
Over the course of her career, Ariyela has designed costumes for more than 25 feature films and numerous television productions. Her credits include Scary Movie 6, Waitress, Insidious: The Last Key, Naked, Fifty Shades of Black, My Best Friend’s Exorcism, South Side, Marlon, iCarly, Web Therapy, and the Emmy-winning Sherman’s Showcase, for which she received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Costume Design.
Known for her character-driven approach to storytelling, Ariyela combines creativity, collaboration, and a strong understanding of production to create memorable and authentic worlds on screen. In addition to her design work, she serves on the Executive Board of the Costume Designers Guild, helped lead the Guild’s historic pay equity effort, and teaches Costume Design for Film and Television at Tel Aviv University.
Drawing from her multicultural background and decades of industry experience, Ariyela brings creativity, authenticity, and a collaborative spirit to every project she undertakes.
