Cinematographer Matthew Irving has lensed an eclectic slate of over 38 feature films in just about every genre imaginable — including the box office “Top Ten” hits WAITRESS (starring Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion, later adapted into the Broadway musical) and WAITING (starring Ryan Reynolds, Justin Long and Anna Faris), as well as the Spirit Award nominee for Best Picture GROOVE. Irving has had five features premiere at the Sundance Film Festival over the years, and his work has been distributed by Sony Classics, Fox Searchlight, Lionsgate, Miramax, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, etc. He has also shot a wide variety of short subjects, including TV, commercial, and corporate. Filmmaker Magazine named Irving one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film,” and he has earned press accolades for his trademark style of “precise framing and camera movement” and his “acute attention to color, lighting, and texture.” He has also lectured extensively at universities and film festivals on the topics of cinematography and film history.
