Diana Schmidt

New York native DIANA SCHMIDT (Producer) has produced a variety of acclaimed films and television shows, including “Fleishman is in Trouble,” “Dickinson,” “30 Rock,” “Sex and the City,” and “Big Night.”

Schmidt served as Co-Executive Producer on FX’s acclaimed “Fleishman is in Trouble,” nominated for seven Primetime Emmys and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Claire Danes, and Lizzy Caplan.  Prior to that, Schmidt produced the Peabody Award-winning “Dickinson,” starring Hailee Steinfeld, for Apple TV+.

For the first seven seasons of NBC’s hit comedy “30 Rock,” Schmidt was co-producer and UPM, winning a Directors Guild Award in 2014 for her work on the show.  More recently, Schmidt produced Hulu’s “The Path,” for executive producer Jason Katims, with whom she also collaborated on “The Rise,” a pilot for Universal Television.  Other credits include the mini-series “The Slap” for NBC Television, the pilot for NBC’s “State of Affairs,” and HBO’s “Sex and the City,” for which Schmidt served as production supervisor for Seasons 4 and 5.

On the features side, Schmidt was unit production manager on such films as “The Family Stone” starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Diane Keaton, and Claire Danes, Bill Condon’s “Kinsey” starring Liam Neeson, and “Big Night, directed by Campbell Scott and Stanley Tucci, starring Tucci and Tony Shalhoub.  She also served as co-producer on Jim Jarmusch’s “Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai” starring Forest Whitaker.  Other credits include “The Long Kiss Goodnight,” “Unzipped,” “Jeffrey,” “The Real Blonde,” “The Tic Code,” “24 Hour Woman,” and “Cruel Intentions.”

A graduate of Vassar College where she studied education, Schmidt began her career working at Nickelodeon. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, two children, and dog.
